GROUP MEMBERSHIP PACKAGES

Membership of TMI is only open to individuals, not organisations. However, destination management organisations, suppliers and academic institutions with four or more individual members may choose to pay their fees through a special group membership package.

In addition to the benefits which the individual members will accrue, the following organisational benefits also apply:

  • If required, a single invoice will be issued by TMI to the organisation, headed “Annual TMI Membership Fee”, rather than four or more separate invoices.
  • The organisation is recognised on the TMI website with a short description (up to 50 words), contact details and a hyperlink to the organisation’s own website under one of the following three categories:
Tourist Boards, Local Authorities and Destination Management Organisations
  • Suppliers (For example consultants and market research, call centre / distribution organisations, advertising and media buying agencies, printers and designers, etc.)
  • Universities, Higher Education and Training Agencies

Individuals from suppliers and academic institutions that do not wish to take out a group package may join TMI as an Affiliate member.

Whilst Affiliate members are not usually invited to attend the AGM or stand for a position on the National Council, two Affiliate representatives (one supplier and one university member) will be co-opted onto the TMI National Council.

HOW TO APPLY

Joining TMI could not be easier. There is a simple application form that may be completed on-line. All applications to become an Associate or Full Member must nominate two existing Full Members or Fellows to act as referees. Completed applications will be sent to the two referees for their endorsement.

Colette Walker, the TMI Membership and Communications Support will be happy to advise all prospective members, answer any questions and suggest local TMI members who could be asked to be referees for your application. Her contact details are:
