TMI response to Package Travel Regulations consultation & 2024 Annual Convention
Government consultation on Package Travel Regulations
The Government is currently consulting on changes to package travel legislation to strike the right balance between consumer protection and business freedom. This is of interest as many SME’s in destinations have had difficulty in interpreting the current legislation and its application.
Details of the consultation and questions
The consultation closes on 13 December.
TMI is formulating a response and would be keen to canvass member opinion. If you would like to contribute, please send views to Andrew Bateman, TMI Head of Policy and Advocacy andrew.bateman@hants.gov.uk by Friday 17 November.
TMI Annual Convention 2024
TMI would like to thank everyone involved for helping to make our recent Annual Convention in Lincoln such a successful event. This year's convention was extremely well attended, with representatives across the UK joining in person and a number of university partners and delegates attending online.
Presentations from the event will be available in the members resources section in 2024 and don't forget that all our recordings from this year's TMI zoom events and last year's Annual Convention can be found in the members area by clicking below:
We now invite outline proposals from interested destinations for hosting our 2024 annual convention.
Please reply in the first instance to Graham Haynes ghaynes@tourismse.com by no later than Friday 17th November. Our aim will be to shortlist in late November, with site visits in December and decision by mid January.
