How Can Universities Support DMOs?
We were delighted to have been joined by Colin Potts, from the University of Chester, and Dr Andy Lyon from Liverpool John Moores University, for yesterday's insightful TMI zoom session. Hosted by Dr Maeve Marmion, TMI Head of Professional Development, the special education based session explored ways that tourism organisations can work more, and more productively, with universities.
Looking at opportunities and constraints across the industry, the discussion focused on how partnership working and good practice can lead to greater collaboration and shared resources between universities and professionals working in destination management. TMI’s academic and industry partners are working much more closely together to ensure our tourism graduates of the future are fully equipped with the skills our professional tourism industry needs, with particular emphasis on sustainable tourism, entrepreneurship and digital skills.
For those members that were unable to attend the session, the recording can be found in the previous events section of our members website.
Don’t Forget the Sustainability Working Group Has Developed an Extensive Resource Library Where You Can Find, Tools, Best Practice, Previous Webinar Recordings and Measurement Tools to Support Your Sustainability Journeys.
